Seth Barker

Seth Barker was born in South Australia in 1984. In 2006 he received his Bachelor of Visual Arts Degree with Honours from Adelaide Central School of Art. He exhibited at the Hatched National Graduate Show in Perth and has since participated in numerous group exhibitions.

His recent work comes in the form of acrylic paintings, charcoal drawings and prints. Barker’s work identifies with the often random world around us. Drawing from nature and the world of popular culture he manages seamlessly to create an equilibrium between the two. The landscape, as well as cloud formations are predominant within his art to date. Using multiple models and various objects he captures expressions, reactions and various emotions.

Barker’s detailed artworks are sections of greater narratives (moments frozen in time) calling out to the viewer’s imagination to continue the stories.
