Eleanor Zecchin

Eleanor Zecchin is a visual artist based in Adelaide, South Australia and is a lecturer at Adelaide College of the Arts.

"My paintings investigate the symbolic potency of objects which are used to narrate stories of past and present. Flora, studio and domestic matter are the key subjects through which my sense of place and belonging are explored. I play with authenticity and the invented, the banal and the embellished through the distortive properties of storytelling. Comparing and contrasting objects found in present everyday visual experiences to those from the past, I am conscious of attempting to locate myself and gain a sense of orientation and place".
