Michelle Stanic

Michelle Stanic is a Melbourne-based fine art photographer. Stanic’s photographic practice is inspired by the everyday, endeavouring to capture simple moments with a modern contemporary lens. Her work is based on the idea of finding an alternative view by pausing to truly see what is in front of you.

Stanic worked in senoir creative and commercial roles in the fashion idustry for more than 30 years in the fashion industry before turning to art photography.  She now travels the world capturing images that inspire and challenge the mind.

Her new body of work, 'Autobahn', is about "speeding through life, not ‘really’ seeing what’s in front of you, as if on an Autobahn. Thinking you know the destination, not appreciating the journey. This body of work shows that even through the blur you can find something beautiful. STOP, PAUSE and Absorb. Take the time to be present, be in the moment."
