FINALISTS ANNOUNCED

ART PRIZES

HSG congratulates its artists who have each been successfully nominated as Finalists in three prestigious national art prizes.

The Whyalla Art Prize, established in 1972 by the Whyalla Arts Council, to promote regional emerging artists, the prize has flourished and developed into a significant award and is seen as an important exhibition of contemporary arts in Australia. The Whyalla Art Prize is a biennial prize open to all Australian residents for 2 dimensional artwork in any medium other than photography and for the first time in 2015 moving image works.

Black Swan Prize, one of Australia's richest Portraiture prizes, featuring the $50,000 Lester Group 1st prize. Showcasing and promoting Australia's top artists.

Sunshine Coast Art Prize celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2015. Council partnered with visual art awards across the Sunshine Coast, Queensland to promote a region-wide celebration of visual art with combined prizes valued at over $125,000 across a variety of mediums both traditional and contemporary. Mediums include painting, sculpture, public art, photography, new media (including projections, animation, street art, digital photography, videography and more).
