Situate Arts Lab 2016 Artists announced

Salamanca Arts Centre has announced the 15 artists selected for the 2016 national SITUATE Art in Festivals Arts Lab in Hobart, scheduled to run alongside Mofo in January.
Fifteen early-career artists have been selected from 230 applications following a rigorous selection process involving established artists and curators. The fifteen artists all work experimentally and have a collaborative approach to their art practice.
“The national assessors certainly found it challenging to reach a shortlist of 15 from such a strong field,” says Rosemary Miller, CEO/Artistic Director of Salamanca Arts Centre and the Lead Producer of the Arts Lab.
“The selected artists are such a vibrant, diverse and talented group. We can’t wait to welcome them to Hobart to find out more about their ideas and their long-term aspirations for festival-based work.”
